Sumation is producing commercial materials and developing next generation fluorescent and phosphorescent materials.
As a direct consequence of forming Sumation and combining technology from CDT and Sumitomo, the performance of RGBW materials have been improved dramatically.
The following charts show progress in lifetimes over recent years for materials developed for use in constant current driven device applications.
These charts will be updated following press releases on material improvements in the future. Please continue to check back here for up-to-date information. Results shown below are not necessarily the best materials available and only show data available in the public domain as of March, 2007.
R&D materials are available for evaluation to customers that have signed a Sumation NDA (click here to view Sumation's Standard NDA).
Please contact info@sumation.co.jp for more details.

The above charts show lifetimes calculated for 100% aperture ratio devices operating initially at 1000 cd/m2 and being driven to 50% of initial brightness. The acceleration factor for each colour has been provided in order that lifetimes from different operating brightnesses can be calculated.
For comparison, the table below summarises lifetimes for these materials from initial brightnesses of both 1000 cd/m2 and 400 cd/m2.
